Rising over 29 levels, 222 Exhibition Street is an impressive office building that boasts direct accessibility to some of Melbourne’s best parks, gymnasiums and bicycle paths. It’s no wonder as the building owners refurbished and rejuvenated 222, they wanted a world class end of trip (EOT) facility that would promote a healthy, active and convenient lifestyle for their tenants.
Our client brief was to install custom lockers for both the male and female EOT facilities. The fitout comprised of 384 modified P2 hanging lockers, each with a front attached shoe shelf and bench seat. The striking finish on locker panels was achieved with a Tawny Linewood Laminate that was carefully grain matched across the locker doors and end panels. The locking system we used was an Ojmar OCS Code lock, which features a digital touch keypad and can be programmed for dedicated or shared use.
Additional facilities included in the fitout were an airing cupboard and ironing station to care for tenants jogging or biking into work or exercising at lunchtimes. The EOT facilities at 222 also featured a custom ottoman, and toilet and shower partitions supplied by our parent company ISM Interiors.
One of the challenges we met during the 222 Exhibition Street fitout was quickly adapting our designs to accommodate changed floor plans during construction. Our ability to be flexible and adaptable in these scenarios is a key element of our brand, and one that’s earned respect from our industry partners.
