While a vast majority of our end-of-trip (EOT) projects are located within capital city CBD’s, this was a rare and welcome installation in one of Melbourne’s outer suburbs.
The original brief was for 64 lockers in the female change room and 66 in the male area, but due to high demand, the locker numbers were increased, with an extra 78 lockers added to the male change rooms.
A majority of the lockers are 1900mm high PL2+ models, installed with attached slatted timber seats in Tasmanian Oak. A small design feature of the PL2+ is the corners of each bench seat. They are rounded off for the safety of visitors. The lockers feature two decorative and functional vent grooves stained black – a process performed by hand by our manufacturing team. Both male and female rooms also include a bank of H4 shelving lockers, towel cupboards (in Laminex ‘Battalion’ laminate) and an ironing board unit. All lockers are constructed using E0 rated (extremely low formaldehyde) Laminex ‘White 200’ laminate.
The locking system used on the lockers is a standard key lock, fitted with a custom black and white number tag.
Our parent company ISM were also contracted as part of the wider joinery package for this project, including installation of vanities and hair drying stations in Smartstone Ceniza stone.
